Advocacy for accessible and affordable health care for all Americans
Vision of a New Way is an advocate for improved access to care, improved affordability, being generally healthier, and longer life expectations.
Our Mission
The work of Vision of a New Way focuses on all Americans, including those uninsured and underinsured of limited means, having equal access to quality affordable health care.
We know through our country’s hospitals simply complying with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services policy, propagated in 2004, we will have achieved our dream.
We know it is your dream too. Let’s join together to make the dream a reality.
Our aim is improved access, improved affordability, a reduction in spending on health care by an estimated 40 percent annually, over all improved health, and longer life expectations.
Vision of a New Way (VNW) is a 501(c)(3) founded by Roger Berliner in 2014, after decades in the financial services industry. He realized our health care system was financially ruining Americans and we can stop the assault.
Our History
After many years of advocacy, Secretary Tommy Thompson (R), U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), in an exchange of letters, February 19, 2004, provided guidance to Richard J. Davidson, President, American Hospital Association (AHA) “to take action to assist the uninsured and underinsured.”
“With this guidance as a tool, I strongly encourage you to work with AHA member hospitals to take action to assist the uninsured and underinsured and therefore, end the situation where, as you said in your own words, “uninsured Americans and others of limited means are often billed and required to pay higher charges.”
VNW provided written testimony to the U.S. Senate Committee on Finance.
VNW worked with HHS Secretary Sebelius’s office.
